Leviticus 15 - EasyEnglish Bible 2024(EASY)

Chapter 15Rules about pus, semen and blood

The Lord said to Moses and Aaron,

‘Tell Israel's people, “If any kind of pus is coming out of a man's body, it makes the man unclean.

It does not matter whether the pus continues to leave the man's body or it stays inside. It causes the man to be unclean.

If the man lies on a bed, it becomes unclean. Anything that the man sits on also becomes unclean.

Anyone who touches the bed must wash his clothes and his whole body. He will continue to be unclean until evening.

If anyone sits on anything that the man has sat on, they will also become unclean. So they must wash their clothes and their whole body. They will be unclean until evening.

Someone might touch the man who has pus coming from his body. If that happens, they must wash their clothes and their whole body. They will be unclean until evening.

The man who is unclean might spit on another person. Then the other person must wash their clothes and their whole body. They will be unclean until evening.

The man might sit on something to ride on a horse or a donkey. Whatever he sits on will become unclean.

Someone might touch or carry any of the things that the man has sat on. Then that person must wash their clothes and their whole body. They will be unclean until evening.

The unclean man might not wash his hands before he touches another person. The person that he touched then becomes unclean. That person must wash their clothes and their whole body. They will be unclean until evening.

If the unclean man touches a clay pot, you must break it. If he touches a wooden bowl, you must wash it with clean water.

The man who has had the pus coming from his body might become well again. He must count seven days after the pus has gone. Then he must wash his clothes. He must wash his whole body in clean water. Then he will be clean.

On the eighth day, he must bring two birds to the entrance of the Tent of Meeting. They must be doves or pigeons. He must give them to the priest to offer to the Lord.

The priest will use one of the birds for a sin offering. He will use the other bird for a burnt offering. In this way the priest will make the man clean before the Lord. The pus that came from his body no longer causes him to be unclean.

When semen comes out of a man by mistake, he must wash his whole body. He will be unclean until evening.

He must wash any clothes or leather things that has his semen on them. They will be unclean until evening.

When a man has sex with a woman, some of his semen might splash out. If that happens, they must both wash their bodies. They will be unclean until evening.

Blood comes out from a woman's body every month. When this happens, she will be unclean for seven days. If anyone touches her during this time, they will be unclean until evening.

During the time that the woman is bleeding, if she lies on anything, it becomes unclean. And if she sits on anything, it becomes unclean.

If anyone touches her bed, they must wash their clothes and their whole body. They will be unclean until evening.

If anyone touches something that the woman has sat on, they too must wash their clothes and their whole body. They will be unclean until evening.

This is true for anything that the woman has sat on, including her bed. If anyone touches any of these things, they will be unclean until evening.

A man might have sex with a woman during the time that she is bleeding. If her blood touches him, he will be unclean for seven days. Any bed that the man lies on also becomes unclean.

A woman is unclean all the time that blood is coming out of her body. This is true if it happens at a different time in the month. It is also true if it continues at the usual time for more than seven days. It is all the same. She is unclean.

The rule is the same as when she is bleeding at the usual time of the month. During any time that she is bleeding, anything that she sits on or she lies on becomes unclean.

Anyone who touches those things will also be unclean. They must wash their clothes and their whole body. They will be unclean until evening.

When the woman stops bleeding, she must count seven days. Then she will be clean.

On the eighth day, she must bring two birds to the entrance of the Tent of Meeting. They must be doves or pigeons. She must give them to the priest.

The priest will use one of the birds for a sin offering. He will use the other bird for a burnt offering. In this way the priest will make the woman who had been bleeding clean before the Lord.

In this way you will keep Israel's people separate from things that make them unclean. They will not cause my tabernacle to become unclean. That is the place where I live among them. If they make that place unclean, I would punish them with death.” ’

These are the rules for anyone who has any kind of pus that comes out of their body. Or it may be semen that comes from a man's sex part. These things cause him to be unclean.

They are also the rules for a woman during the time when she bleeds each month. They are the rules for any man or woman who becomes unclean because of these things. They are also the rules for a man who has sex with a woman during the time that she is unclean.
