IntroAbout the Book of ExodusIn the book of Genesis, we read about Jacob and his son Joseph. Joseph's brothers sold him as a slave, to work in Egypt. Later, there was a famine and all of Jacob's family went to live in Egypt.Exodus continues the story. Jacob had many descendants. The king of Egypt made them his slaves. But God chose Moses to lead them out of Egypt.Exodus tells us how God led them through the desert. It tells us how God gave his Law to Moses for the Israelites. It also tells us how the Israelites built the tabernacle and how they worshipped God there.The word ‘Exodus’ means a large number of people who are leaving a place.
