A person might want to give a friendship offering to the Lord. He may choose a bull or a cow from among his animals. It must be perfect.
The person must put his hand on the animal's head. Then he must kill it at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting. Aaron's sons, the priests, will throw the blood onto the sides of the altar.
The person must offer some parts of the friendship offering as a gift to the Lord. He must remove the fat that is around the inside parts of the animal.
He must remove the two kidneys and the fat that is around them. And he must remove the bottom part of the liver.
Aaron's sons will take these parts of the animal. They will put them on top of the burnt offering that is on the wood that burns on the altar. The smell of them while they are burning will give pleasure to the Lord.
A person may want to give a sheep or a goat as a friendship offering to the Lord. It must be a perfect animal, male or female.
If it is a young sheep, he must offer it as a gift to the Lord.
He must put his hand on its head. Then he must kill it at the front of the Tent of Meeting. Aaron's sons will throw the blood onto the sides of the altar.
The person must offer some parts of the friendship offering as a gift to the Lord. He must cut the fat part of the tail off the animal. He must remove the fat that is around the inside parts of the animal.
He must remove the two kidneys and the fat that is around them. And he must remove the bottom part of the liver.
The priest will burn these parts on the altar as a gift of food to the Lord.
A person may give a goat as his offering to the Lord.
The person must put his hand on the goat's head. Then he must kill it at the front of the Tent of Meeting. Then Aaron's sons will throw the blood onto the sides of the altar.
The person must offer some parts of his offering as a gift to the Lord. He must remove the fat that is around the inside parts of the animal.
He must remove the two kidneys and the fat that is around them. And he must remove the bottom part of the liver.
The priest will burn these parts on the altar as a gift of food. The smell of them while they are burning will give pleasure to the Lord. All the fat from these offerings belongs to the Lord.
You must never eat any fat or any blood yourselves. This is a rule that you and your descendants must always obey, in all the places where you live.’
