that has come to you. All over the world this gospel is bearing fruit and growing, just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and understood God's grace in all its truth. 7.You learned it from Epaphras, our dear fellow servant, who is a faithful minister of Christ on our behalf, 8.and who also told us of your love in the Spirit.

SUMMARY

What the recipient of the Holy Spirit knows is that the gift of the Lord far exceeds his own worth or any achievement he has accumulated throughout his life. In other words, the gift of God makes all of his own efforts so far useless. Those who do not receive the Holy Spirit have no way of knowing about the circumstances of those who have received the Holy Spirit. 성령을 받은 자가 아는 것은 주님의 선물이 자신의 가치 혹은 자신이 일평생 축적한 모든 공적을 월등하게 넘어선다는 것이다. 즉 하나님의 선물은 그동안의 자신의 모든 노력을 무용지물로 만들어버린다. 이 같은 성령 받은 자들의 사정에 대해 성령 받지 않는 자들은 알 길이 없다.

On the other hand, those who have received the Holy Spirit know the circumstances of those who do not receive the Holy Spirit very well. The destination of all thoughts and actions of those without the Holy Spirit is themselves. They can't get out of here even a single inch. Even though they are eager to study the Bible and rejoice in hearing the Gospel, if they do not have the Holy Spirit, it is only the work of flesh which flesh produces. For man, the path from flesh to spirit is blocked. 반면에 성령 받은 자는 성령 받지 않는 자들의 사정을 너무도 잘 안다. 성령이 없는 자들의 모든 사고와 행위의 종착지는 자기 자신이다. 그들은 여기서 한 치도 벗어나지 못한다. 이들이 성경공부에 열심을 내고 복음 듣는 것을 기뻐하더라도 그들에게 성령이 없다면 그것은 육에서 나온 육의 일에 불과한 것이다. 인간에게는 육에서 영으로 나아가는 길은 막혀 있다.

If human flesh is compared to “solid”, it can be said that it is “liquid” or “gas” that reaches the bank of the heavenly river. The Word of Jesus that “No one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again(John 3:3)” and “The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit(John : 8).” make it clear that it is impossible to cross from human side to heaven. 인간의 육을 ‘고체’에 비유한다면 천국의 강둑에 도달하는 것은 액체 혹은 기체라고 할 수 있다. “사람이 거듭나지 아니하면 하나님 나라를 볼 수 없느니라(요3:3)”와 “바람이 임의로 불매 네가 그 소리를 들어도 어디서 오며 어디로 가는지 알지 못하나니 성령으로 난 사람은 다 이러하니라(요3:8)”는 예수님의 말씀은 인간 편에서 천국으로 건너가는 것은 불가능함을 분명히 하는 것이다.

Jesus spoke of the heavenly things of eternal life in a parable because man is already dead before God. The dead have neither eyes to see nor ears to hear, nor intelligence to realize the reality of eternal life. Jesus made it clear to his disciples that he intended to speak only in parables. : “The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them(Mat. 13:11).” Thus, without the Holy Spirit, the world cannot treat the Lord's parables. 예수님은 영생에 속한 하늘의 일을 비유로 말씀하셨는데 그 이유는 하나님 앞에서 인간은 이미 죽어있기 때문이다. 죽은 자들은 영생의 실체에 대해서 볼 수 있는 눈도 들을 수 있는 귀도 깨달을 수 있는 마음도 없다. 예수님은 제자들에게 자신이 비유로만 말씀하시는 의도를 분명히 밝히셨다. : “천국의 비밀을 아는 것이 너희에게는 허락되었으나 저희에게는 아니되었나니(마13:11).” 따라서 성령이 없이는 세상은 주님의 비유를 감당할 수가 없다.

The apostle John mentioned Jesus in his epistle as follows : “This is the one who came by water and blood--Jesus Christ. He did not come by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. For there are three that testify:the Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement(1 John5:6-8).” 사도 요한은 그의 서신에서 예수님에 대해 다음과 같이 언급했다. : “이는 물과 피로 임하신 이시니 곧 예수 그리스도시라 물로만 아니요 물과 피로 임하셨고 증언하는 이는 성령이시니 성령은 진리니라 증언하는 이가 셋이니 성령과 물과 피라 또한 이 셋은 합하여 하나이니라(요일 5:6-8).”

Jesus and the Holy Spirit are respectively compared to the flow of liquids such as water and blood, and the flow of gas such as wind, not solid entities. The flow of water, blood, and the Spirit (wind) are all related to the fulfillment of God's Word. In other words, as the Spirit of God did to Jesus, whose Word became flesh and came to this world, the Holy Spirit tries to extract the Word of God from them by mashing the solid flesh of the saints, the members of Jesus' body. 예수님과 성령님은 견고한 개체가 아닌 물과 피라는 액체의 흐름과 바람이라는 기체의 흐름에 비유되고 있다. 물과 피와 성령(바람)의 흐름은 모두 하나님의 말씀 성취와 관련 있다. 즉 하나님의 성령께서는 말씀이 육신이 되어 이 세상에 오셨던 예수님에게 그렇게 하셨듯 그분의 지체인 고체상태의 성도들의 육신을 짓이겨서 그들 안에서 하나님의 말씀을 추출해 내시려 한다.

In other words, there is a process called the flow of the Holy Spirit between the riverbank called “In Adam” and the riverbank called “In Christ”. The Holy Spirit of God draws the human ego into the flow of the Spirit by grinding and crushing it with the Word. In today's text, the reason that Epaphras whom the apostle Paul mentioned was able to work vigorously was not because he possessed the Holy Spirit, but because the Holy Spirit possessed him, and the initiative of his life was handed over to the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit made him a constant flow between his being sinner and his being righteous so that he could not pay attention to himself and analyze himself. 이를 달리 표현하면 ‘아담 안’이라는 강둑과 ‘그리스도 안’이라는 강둑 사이에는 성령의 흐름이라는 과정이 있다고 하는 것이다. 하나님의 성령은 인간의 자아를 말씀으로 갈고 짓이겨서 성령의 흐름 안으로 끌어넣으신다. 오늘 본문에서 사도 바울이 소개한 에바브로가 왕성하게 활동할 수 있었던 것은 그가 성령을 소유한 것이 아니라 성령께서 그를 소유했기 때문이며 그의 삶의 주도권이 성령께 넘어갔기 때문이다. 성령께서는 에바브로가 자기 자신을 주목하고 자기 자신을 분석할 수 없도록 그를 죄인 됨과 의인 됨 사이를 끊임없이 오가는 흐름이 되게 하셨다.

The fact that someone has received the Holy Spirit means that both good and evil standards have become useless for him. The Holy Spirit is the spirit of the end. The Holy Spirit tells us that the world that killed Jesus has already been judged and ended and that death and curse cover the whole world. Everyone's condition is the same, which is death. But those who do not have the Holy Spirit know themselves as solid entities and cannot understand the Word of “water, blood and wind”. They just make themselves the object of their actions and struggle for it. 누군가가 성령을 받았다는 것은 그에게는 선악 기준이 다 쓸모없어졌다는 말이다. 성령은 종말의 영이다. 성령은 예수님을 죽인 세상은 이미 심판받았고 끝장났으며 죽음과 저주가 온 세상을 덮고 있다는 것을 알려준다. 모든 사람의 조건은 같은데 그것은 죽음이라는 것이다. 그러나 성령이 없는 자들은 자신을 단단한 실체로 알고 있기에 ‘물과 피와 바람’의 말을 알아들을 수 없는 것이다. 그들은 자기 자신을 자기 행위의 목적으로 삼아 고군분투할 따름이다.

Those who benefited from the Holy Spirit, on the other hand, had the eye to see all things and all affairs including themselves, as a kind of flow and parable, not as an entity. Therefore, they know that they do not obstinately have to make their own voices and that they do not obstinately have to exist in the world. What matters to them is not themselves, but the Lord's working, and they consider themselves sufficient as a tool to show the Lord's activity. So, they praise as follows : "The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world( Psalm 19:1-4). "반면에 성령의 혜택을 받은 자들은 자기 자신을 포함하여 만물과 만사를 실체가 아닌 하나의 흐름으로, 그리고 비유로 볼 수 있는 안목을 받았다. 그러므로 이들은 굳이 독자적인 자기 목소리를 낼 필요가 없다는 것과 더욱이 자신이 세상에 존재할 필요도 없음을 안다. 그들에게 중요한 것은 자기 자신이 아니라 주님의 일하심이며 그들 자신은 주님의 활동을 보여주기 위해 소용되는 도구로 족하게 여긴다. 그들은 다음과 같이 찬양한다. “하늘이 하나님의 영광을 선포하고 궁창이 그 손으로 하신 일을 나타내는도다 날은 날에게 말하고 밤은 밤에게 지식을 전하니 언어가 없고 들리는 소리도 없으나 그 소리가 온 땅에 통하고 그 말씀이 세계 끝까지 이르도다(시 19:1-4).”

What comes from these people is to thank God for everything. Instead of trying to use their own discretion to figure out everything on a case-by-case basis that happens to them, they know and appreciate them all as directions from the Holy Spirit. Such ones only enjoy the benefits of the Holy Spirit given to them. That is, “But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness. And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you(Rom. 8:10-11).” 이런 자들에게서 나오는 것은 범사에 대해 하나님께 감사하는 것이다. 이들은 자신에게 벌어지는 모든 일에 대해 자신의 분별력을 사용하여 사안별로 헤아리려고 드는 대신 그것들 모두를 성령이 내린 지시로 알고 감사한다. 이런 자들은 자신들에게 주어진 성령의 혜택을 누릴 뿐이다. 즉, “또 그리스도께서 너희 안에 계시면 몸은 죄로 말미암아 죽은 것이나 영은 의로 말미암아 살아 있는 것이니라 예수를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리신 이의 영이 너희 안에 거하시면 그리스도 예수를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리신 이가 너희 안에 거하시는 그의 영으로 말미암아 너희 죽을 몸도 살리시리라”(롬 8:10-11).
