Who were the authors of the books of the Bible?
"God has breathed life into all Scripture. It is useful for teaching us what is true. It is useful for correcting our mistakes. It is useful for making our lives whole again. It is useful for training us to do what is right" (2 Timothy 3:16).

Second Timothy 3:16 says that the Bible is God breathed. The word in Greek is theopneutos and it means inspired by God.Nothing in the Bible is one person’s private interpretation. In other words, no one person took it upon themselves to sit down and write the Bible. Instead, God gave the people who wrote down the Bible's words the exact thoughts and ideas that He wanted to share with us.
God used several people to write down His Words He wanted us to know. The writers were very special people who were chosen by God for this task. They each wrote in their own style, but they wrote God’s words. God guided their thoughts and they wrote what God wanted them to write.
Who were these men God chose? The Bible was written by approximately 40 men and they were from various backgrounds. For example, John was a fisherman, Paul made tents, Moses was a shepherd, and Luke was a doctor.
