What is truth?
"That belief and understanding lead to the hope of eternal life. Before time began, God promised to give that life. And he does not lie" (Titus 1:2).
"Use the truth to make them holy. Your word is truth" (John 17:17).
"Jesus spoke to the Jews who had believed him. 'If you obey my teaching,' he said, 'you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth. And the truth will set you free'" (John 8:31-32).
The truth is found in Jesus.Truth is not something we make up. The truth is real and true. The Bible tells us Jesus is the truth. Jesus tells us: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). The truth is only found in Jesus.
Two-thousand years ago, there was a man named Pilate. He asked the same question: “What is truth?” (John 18:38). Pilate failed to understand that the truth was right in front of Him. The truth was Jesus. Today, the truth is still Jesus.
We cannot know truth apart from Jesus. We can read the Bible and learn about Jesus and His truth. The truth is that Jesus died for the bad things we do. By believing He died, was buried, and came back to life, we can live forever with Him. That’s a pretty amazing truth!
