Does the Bible say we should take care of the environment?

"God blessed them. He said to them, 'Have children and increase your numbers. Fill the earth and bring it under your control. Rule over the fish in the waters and the birds of the air. Rule over every living creature that moves on the ground'" (Genesis 1:28).

"The heavens tell about the glory of God. The skies show that his hands created them" (Psalm 19:1).

God gave us the earth and we have the privilege of taking
care of it.

God created each tree, flower, ocean, and mountain. All the reptiles, insects, mammals, birds, fish, and amphibians were created by God! He made everything with great care and creativity.

God created humans too, and He gave us a special spot in creation. He asked us to take care of the earth. This means that God wants us to keep it clean and protect it. That's one of our jobs here on earth!

God also wants us to enjoy the beauty of His creation. The next time you are outside on a walk, take a moment to look around you. What do you see? What is beautiful? Remember, God created it to be enjoyed. He does not want us to worship the earth or the creation, but He does want us to enjoy it.

The Bible teaches us that the earth we live on today will not always be here. That's part of God's big plan. But God has asked us to take care of the earth for as long as it lasts.
