Why was Jesus too busy to see the kids?

"Some people brought little children to Jesus. They wanted him to place his hands on the children and pray for them. But the disciples told them not to do it. Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to me. Don’t keep them away. The kingdom of heaven belongs to people like them'" (Matthew 19:13-14).

"The disciples began to argue about which one of them would be the most important person. Jesus knew what they were thinking. So he took a little child and had the child stand beside him" (Luke 9:46-47).

When parents brought their kids to see Jesus, He welcomed them!

The disciples tried to stop the parents from bringing the kids to Jesus, but Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me. Don’t keep them away." We don’t know why the disciples tried to stop the kids. Maybe they thought Jesus was too busy with the grown-ups. We don’t know. We do know that Jesus wanted the kids to come to Him!

We know from this real-life story that Jesus loves children and wants all people to come to Him. He thinks kids are really important!

When you have something to tell Jesus, He is listening. Don’t be afraid to come to Him in prayer. He wants to hear from you.
