Why does it seem like God is silent?
"After the earthquake a fire came. But the Lord wasn’t in the fire. And after the fire there was only a gentle whisper" (1 Kings 19:12).
"The word of God is alive and active. It is sharper than any sword that has two edges. It cuts deep enough to separate soul from spirit. It can separate bones from joints. It judges the thoughts and purposes of the heart" (Hebrew 4:12).
"God has breathed life into all Scripture. It is useful for teaching us what is true. It is useful for correcting our mistakes. It is useful for making our lives whole again. It is useful for training us to do what is right" (2 Timothy 3:16).
God is never silent. It could be you are not listening to Him.Oftentimes you may feel God is silent, but remember God can speak to you in a quiet whisper. He speaks to us through the Bible.
God does not speak out of thundercloud. You won’t hear His voice coming from the sky. You can come to know His voice by listening to Him in the Bible. As a Christian, God can use the Holy Spirit to speak to you. Be ready to listen!
God’s ways are higher than our ways (Isaiah 55:8-11). This means that it can be hard sometimes for us to know what God is saying. We can listen to God by praying to Him and reading the Bible. God is always speaking. We just need to be still and listen.
