How can I stop being a bully?
"But God is faithful and fair. If we confess our sins, he will forgive our sins. He will forgive every wrong thing we have done. He will make us pure" (1 John 1:9).
"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor. Hate your enemy.' But here is what I tell you. Love your enemies. Pray for those who hurt you" (Matthew 5:43-44).
To stop being a bully, you must think about what God wants you to be and what He wants you to do.Jesus was asked, "Teacher...which is the most important commandment in the Law?"
Jesus replied, "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Love him with all your mind.’ This is the first and most important commandment. And the second is like it. ‘Love your neighbor as you love yourself'" (Matthew 22:36-40).
This can be summed up as "Love God, and love people." When you are a bully, are you loving people? God wants you to be like Jesus. Even towards those who were mean to Him, Jesus showed love, patience, and forgiveness.
Think about how you can make someone's life better. Be friendly to the new kids at school. Apologize to those you have hurt in the past and ask their forgiveness. And if you have never asked Jesus to forgive you of your sins and make you a new person, do it. Jesus can create a clean heart in you and help you love others. Only Jesus can do that in our lives.
