How does the Bible describe a fool?
"Foolish people say foolish things. Their minds are set on doing evil things. They don’t do what is right. They tell lies about the Lord. They don’t give hungry people any food. They don’t let thirsty people have any water” (Isaiah 32:6).
"A foolish child makes his father sad and his mother sorry" (Proverbs 17:25).
"Foolish people say in their hearts, 'There is no God.' They do all kinds of horrible and evil things. No one does anything good" (Psalm 14:1).

The Bible gives us a radically different definition of a fool. The Bible describes a fool as being someone who is either morally deficient or someone who denies God’s existence. Fools hate knowledge, disobeys their parents, and are deceitful (Proverbs 1:22; 14:8; 15:5).
Fools disobey God and follow their own sinful desires. Listening to God and following Him is the exact opposite of being a fool. Following, listening, and obeying God is wisdom. The Bible tells us to stay away from fools because they can lead us down a bad road (Proverbs 14:7). We need to be careful who we choose as our friends. Choose friends who love God just like you!
The truest definition of a fool is someone who believes there is no God (Psalm 14:1). Rather than believing in God, the fool believes God is made up. Those who are wise know God is real. Fools act and behave as if there is no God. This means they do bad things such as being bullies. Being a fool is never presented as a good thing in the Bible.
