Should I watch horror movies?

"So eat and drink and do everything else for the glory of God" (1 Corinthians 10:31).

"I destroy every claim and every reason that keeps people from knowing God. I keep every thought under control in order to make it obey Christ" (2 Corinthians 10:5).

"But you are not ruled by the power of sin. Instead, the Holy Spirit rules over you. This is true if the Spirit of God lives in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to Christ" (Romans 8:9).

We shouldn’t watch horror movies because horror movies promote violence, gore, and sin.

Horror movies are scary, especially for kids. These types of movies are not honoring to God. The Bible tells us to focus on whatever is true, right, noble, pure, lovely, respectful, excellent, and praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8). Horror movies don’t fall under any of these categories.

We need to be careful about what we put into our minds. Allowing evil things into our mind can frighten us for a long time to come and distract us from keeping our mind on godly things.

Instead of watching horror movies, watch movies where the content honors God.
