Why is the devil after us?
"Be watchful and control yourselves. Your enemy the devil is like a roaring lion. He prowls around looking for someone to swallow up" (1 Peter 5:8).
"...The one who is in you is powerful. He is more powerful than the one who is in the world" (1 John 4:4).
The devil wants to keep Christians from following Jesus. Don’t let him!The Bible is clear about the devil’s attacks: "Be watchful and control yourselves. Your enemy the devil is like a roaring lion. He prowls around looking for someone to swallow up" (1 Peter 5:8). He wants to stop people from living for Jesus.
2 Timothy 3:12 says, "In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be treated badly." As Christians, we will face trouble. The devil does not want us to live for Jesus. We must be prepared for his attacks. When we pray, study the Bible, and stand firm, he cannot defeat us: "...The one who is in you is powerful. He is more powerful than the one who is in the world" (1 John 4:4).
