성경이 증거하는 "기름부음(anointing)"은 하나님의 목적에 따라 행하여지는 거룩한 예식인데
비유적으로(metaphorically) 그의 백성들에게 보이시는 징표(sign)이다.
하나님은 여러 가지 목적으로 그가 선택하신 자들에게 기름을 부으시는데
대략 종합해 보면 다음과 같은 의미를 가지고 있다.

He will be sent to your Side.
