1Now the main point of what we are saying is this: we have such a high priest, who sat down on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,
2a minister in the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle which the Lord put together, not humans.
3For every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices. Therefore it is necessary that this one also have something to offer.
4For if he were on earth, he would not be a priest at all, since there are priests who offer the gifts prescribed by the law.
5They serve as a copy and shadow of the heavenly things, just as Moses was warned by God when he was about to complete the tabernacle. For he said, “See, you are to make everything according to the pattern that was shown to you on the mountain.”
13By calling this “a new covenant,” he has made the first one obsolete. But what has been made obsolete and is aging will soon disappear.
