Why is it important to study the various people in the Bible?

"God has breathed life into all Scripture. It is useful for teaching us what is true. It is useful for correcting our mistakes. It is useful for making our lives whole again. It is useful for training us to do what is right. By using Scripture, the servant of God can be completely prepared to do every good thing" (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

"Those things happened to them as examples for us. They were written down to warn us. That’s because we are living at the time when God’s work is being completed" (1 Corinthians 10:11).

"Follow my example, just as I follow the example of Christ" (1 Corinthians 11:1).

We study about people in the Bible to learn from them and to learn more about God.

Studying the various people in the Bible helps us in many ways. It is important to study about them because it helps us learn about their lives. We also learn about God in the process. The people in the Bible are not perfect. They have flaws and problems just like us. Through the Bible, we get to learn about human nature, how to keep growing in our relationship with God, and how to learn from people's past mistakes.

The various people in the Bible all made mistakes. As was the case for Moses. He faithfully walked with God. Sadly, he didn't get to enter the Promised Land because of his doubt. His doubt caused him to question God. We can learn from Moses's life that we don't need to doubt God. Instead of doubting God, we need to trust Him with every day of our lives.

We can also learn from Adam and Eve about the importance of obeying God. Due to their disobedience, they were cast out of the garden of Eden.

By learning and studying about people in the Bible, we will be able to help ourselves avoid their mistakes.
