Was the forbidden fruit an apple?

"But you must not eat the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If you do, you will certainly die" (Genesis 2:17).

"'You will certainly not die,' the serpent said to the woman. 'God knows that when you eat fruit from that tree, you will know things you have never known before. Like God, you will be able to tell the difference between good and evil'" (Genesis 3:4-5).

"Sin entered the world because one man sinned. And death came because of sin. Everyone sinned, so death came to all people" (Romans 5:12).

We don’t know what the forbidden fruit was.

A lot of people think the forbidden fruit was an apple, but the Bible doesn’t tell us it was an apple. The forbidden fruit could have been any fruit. It is most likely that the forbidden fruit no longer exists. The forbidden fruit was a special fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Since we don’t have this tree anymore, we don’t have the fruit.

The forbidden fruit was the one fruit God told Adam and Eve not to eat. They could eat any other fruit except the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 2:17). Adam and Eve didn’t listen to God. Instead of listening to God, they followed their own desires. The serpent tempted Eve to eat the fruit. Once Eve saw the fruit looked good, she willingly ate it and gave it to her husband to eat also. By doing this, they sinned and disobeyed God.

Since Adam and Eve disobeyed God, the fall of man happened. Due to the fall, we are all separated from God. It is only through believing in Jesus that we can have a right relationship with God. Even though we don’t know what the forbidden fruit was, it most likely wasn’t an apple. Whatever the fruit was, we don’t have this fruit anymore.
