Who was Esther?

Esther: The queen for just the right time—God’s time. "It’s possible that you became queen for a time just like this" (Esther 4:14).Esther was a young Jewish girl who lived with her older cousin Mordecai (More-duh-ky) in a kingdom called Persia. She thought of Mordecai as an uncle. Mordecai worked in the king’s palace.
One day, the ruler of Persia, King Xerxes (Zerks-zees) decided to have a huge party. He invited every important person in his kingdom. During the party, King Xerxes wanted to show off his beautiful wife, Queen Vashti (Vash-tee). He sent for her to come to the party, but she refused to come. The king’s advisors told him to kick her out and choose another queen. So soldiers were sent around, and they gathered up all of the pretty girls—including Esther. She was to the palace and given beauty treatments. King Xerxes chose her as his new queen.
There was a ruler in the palace named Haman who hated Esther’s cousin Mordecai and the rest of the Jews. He made a plan to destroy them all. Esther realized that she could help, and that this was the reason God had brought her to the palace as queen. Risking her own life, Esther was able to alert the king to Haman’s evil plot and the Jews were saved.
It doesn't matter if we are young or old; God has a plan for us each and every day. If we follow Him, He will lead us where He wants us to go, and He’ll give us the courage to finish the jobs He has for us.
