What if I don’t feel saved?

"God's grace has saved you because of your faith in Christ. Your salvation doesn’t come from anything you do. It is God’s gift. It is not based on anything you have done. No one can brag about earning it" (Ephesians 2:8-9).

Salvation is a gift, not a feeling.

The Bible talks a lot about salvation, but it doesn’t say anything about "feeling saved." Salvation is when a sinner is saved from God’s judgment on sin.

Feelings can’t always be trusted. For example, I may feel sad when all my friends are happy. That feeling may be caused by a cloudy day, a headache, or something one of my friends said. Does that mean that my friends don’t like me anymore? No. Feelings are important, but our feelings aren’t always completely truthful.

When we rely on our feelings, we will constantly be asking ourselves, "Does God really love me?" "Am I good enough?" "Do I really love God?" What we need to do is focus on God and the truth we know about Him from His Word. His Word can always be trusted.
