The aseity of God is His eternal, un-created, un-changing nature, His complete sovereignty, and His supreme self-sufficiency. This same God, Creator of all things, wants to have a personal relationship with you.
God’s existence originates from no other source.
God’s existence does not depend on anything else.
God is self-sustaining, eternal, and unchanging.
God is supreme and sovereign over all creation and human affairs.
How does God's eternal nature impact your trust in Him during uncertain times?
What implications does God’s aseity have in relation to your life?
How does recognizing God's sovereignty influence your response to personal challenges?
How can God’s unchanging nature provide stability in a rapidly changing world?
How does God’s aseity and His creation of us reveal about our identity and purpose?
How can understanding the aseity of God comfort our fears, doubts, concerns, and worries?
God is the very definition of aseity: to exist independently of everything else; to be un-created and necessary. God is God alone. He is self-sufficient, self-existent and self-sustaining. God has always existed, having no beginning and no end. He is perfect in every way. God is the Creator of all things and rules with sovereignty over the affairs of humanity. While God needs no one, He created humanity to relate to and have fellowship with, through a personal relationship with Him. When humanity sinned against God, He chose to love the people of the world by sending His only Son, Jesus, to save the world of sin and death by His own death and resurrection. By faith in Jesus Christ, those who believe in Him receive the gift of eternal life, forgiveness of their sins, the indwelling power and presence of the Holy Spirit, and are called children of God.
As we understand the aseity of God, we can choose to rely on Him with total confidence. God is the only firm foundation to build your life upon. He is trustworthy and His plans and purposes for you will always prevail. God has never changed, and He never will. In a world of constant change, confusion and chaos, God is our refuge and strength, our constant, and our peace through any storm. Jesus said, “Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). As Christians, we can have complete confidence that God is faithful. Everything He has said in His word is true and will be fulfilled. Choosing to trust God and obey His word is true wisdom given the reality of the aseity of God.
