What is Buddhism?
"God’s grace has saved you because of your faith in Christ. Your salvation doesn’t come from anything you do. It is God’s gift. It is not based on anything you have done. No one can brag about earning it" (Ephesians 2:8-9).
"People have to die once. After that, God will judge them" (Hebrews 9:27).
"Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me'" (John 14:6).
Buddhism is a false belief system that is based on what they call "four noble truths."Buddhism was started by Siddhartha Guatama. He created the concept of enlightenment, which in a very general sense, means the peace that comes from giving up the pleasures of the world. According to Buddhism, the "four noble truths" are:
1)to live is to suffer
2)suffering is caused by want or desire
3)suffering goes away when a person gets rid of all attachments
Buddhism is also known for the belief in karma, reincarnation, and Samsara. Karma is the belief that if you do good, good things will come to you, but if you do bad, bad things will come back to you. Samsara is the belief that you are reincarnated or reborn when you die. Maya is the belief that the nature of the world is illusionary.
Buddhism is not truth when compared with the Bible. It is a false belief system. Nobody is declared "good" for following the four noble truths or the eightfold path. The only way a person can go to heaven is through believing in Jesus. Also, the Bible teaches against reincarnation. It tells us we are to die once and then to face judgment.
