Can I go to parties?
"God is faithful. He has chosen you to share life with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord" (1 Corinthians 1:9).
"We announce to you what we have seen and heard. We do it so you can share life together with us. And we share life with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ" (1 John 1:3).
"Don’t let anyone fool you. 'Bad companions make a good person bad'" (1 Corinthians 15:33).
It depends on the party.Who doesn’t love a fun party? There is yummy food, dancing, and friends at parties! God designed us to have friendships. We love parties so much because they fulfill the need of friendships and social interaction. It is great to go to parties to spend time with friends.
Sometimes parties are not focused on building friendships. These are bad parties and they do not honor God. Sometimes there is drugs, alcohol, and smoking at these kinds of parties. These parties often attract people who don’t honor God. When we are friends with people who go to these types of parties, they can influence us to sin. It is wise to surround ourselves with people who help us honor God.
