What should I do if I'm afraid to go to school?

"Be strong and brave. Don’t be afraid of them. Don’t be terrified because of them. The LORD your God will go with you. He will never leave you. He’ll never desert you" (Deuteronomy 31:6).

"When I’m afraid, I put my trust in you" (Psalm 56:3).

If you are afraid to go to school, talk to a trusted adult about your fear.

Talk to a parent, a teacher, a pastor, or another adult who loves you. These adults want to know what you're going through so they can help you. You will not be able to learn the way you should if you are worried and fearful about what might happen to you each day.

If someone at school is hurting you or bullying you, it's very important that you talk to a trusted adult about it. Or maybe you're afraid of getting sick. If you are afraid you won't do well in your studies, or afraid of being away from your parents all day, or afraid for any other reason, talk to God about your fears. He has promised to never leave you. Even at school, He is with you, even though you can't see Him! He gave you a brain that can learn, and the ability to make friends, and school is a great place to do both! With God's help, you can overcome any fear and even be excited to go to school!
