Is it okay to pray to angels?

"Christ [Jesus] is the exact likeness of God, who can’t be seen. He is first, and he is over all of creation. All things were created by him. He created everything in heaven and on earth. He created everything that can be seen and everything that can’t be seen. He created kings, powers, rulers and authorities. Everything was created by him and for him" (Colossians 1:15–16).

"He has gone into heaven. He is at God’s right hand. Angels, authorities and powers are under his control" (1 Peter 3:22).

No, we should only worship and pray to God.

God created angels and people for His own glory. Angels serve God and worship Him. Angels can help people, but only at God’s command. They don’t come to help us because we pray to them.

God created angels with wisdom and power, but only God is all-knowing and all-powerful, so only He can understand and answer every prayer. When we pray to God, we trust and worship Him as the one true God.

Because angels are so strong and bright, people have been tempted to worship them. But good angels always refuse to be worshipped. They point praise to the only one who deserves all worship and prayer—God.

The first prayer a person should pray is to ask God for forgiveness of their sins. To find out how God can forgive your sins, click here!
