Should Christians vote?

"Pray for kings. Pray for everyone who is in authority. Pray that we can live peaceful and quiet lives. And pray that we will be godly and holy. This is good, and it pleases God our Savior" (1 Timothy 2:2-3).

"All of you must obey those who rule over you. There are no authorities except the ones God has chosen. Those who now rule have been chosen by God. So whoever opposes the authorities opposes leaders whom God has appointed. Those who do that will be judged" (Romans 13:1-2).

"...Then he said to them, ‘So give back to Caesar what belongs to Caesar. And give back to God what belongs to God'" (Matthew 22:21).

Yes, Christians should vote.

It is a great privilege to vote once you are old enough. Christians need to vote for leaders who follow Christian truths.

The Bible tells us to respect and pray for those in authority. As Christians, we need to obey the authorities and we should not rebel against them. We can pray for our leaders and pray for guidance on who we will vote for.

In many places around the world, people don’t get to vote. The leader is set in power and will rule their entire life. If you live in a country where voting is possible, we can use our vote to promote a candidate who follows Christian principles. Every vote matters.
