Will we have halos in heaven?
"It is written that 'no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no human mind has known.' God has prepared these things for those who love him" (1 Corinthians 2:9).
No, we won’t have halos in heaven.God never tells us in the Bible that we have halos in heaven. Oftentimes in popular culture, you will see angels depicted as having halos above their heads. Many times, you may have even heard that when someone goes to heaven, they will have a halo. This is not true as we will not receive halos in heaven nor will angels have halos in heaven.
The creation of the halo depicted in art dates back to the Hellenists in 300 B.C. This means the invention and idea of the halo comes from non-Christian sources. The Bible never speaks of halos, therefore, it is reasonable to say that we will not have halos in heaven. If we were going to have halos in heaven, God would have told us in the Bible.
Halos are always seen as beautiful in different paintings and many artists have drawn Jesus with a halo. The truth is that Jesus never had a halo above His head nor are we told the angels have halos above their heads. While halos might sound neat and pretty, we will not have halos in heaven. Instead, we will be with God and living in His paradise.
