Why is life not fair?

"Then Peter began to speak. 'I now realize how true it is that God treats everyone the same,' he said" (Acts 10:34).

"When times are good, be happy. But when times are bad, here’s something to think about. God has made bad times. He has also made good times. So no one can find out anything about what’s ahead for them" (Ecclesiastes 7:14).

"Don’t be controlled by love for money. Be happy with what you have. God has said, 'I will never leave you. I will never desert you'" (Hebrews 13:5).

Life is not fair because we live in a fallen world.

Some days are really hard. It just seems like nothing goes your way. On days like this, it can seem that life isn’t fair. Many people will treat you unfairly, but that’s not what God wanted. Due to the fallen world, things are unfair. People do what they want instead of following God’s plan.

God is always just and fair. He never has favorites (Romans 2:11). God wants us to act fairly with others even if they are not nice to us (Deuteronomy 25:15).

When bad people get what they want, it can seem like life is not fair. But we need to remember that the things of this life are temporary. In Heaven, we will have eternal happiness with God. Instead of focusing on unfair things, think about how much God has blessed you!
