Why does God want us to pray together with other people?

"So encourage one another with the hope you have. Build each other up. In fact, that's what you are doing" (1 Thessalonians 5:11).

"Don’t worry about anything. No matter what happens, tell God about everything. Ask and pray, and give thanks to him" (Philippians 4:6).

"And let us not give up meeting together. Some are in the habit of doing this. Instead, let us encourage one another with words of hope. Let us do this even more as you see Christ’s return approaching" (Hebrews 10:25).

Praying with each other brings honor to God and helps us support each other.

As believers in Jesus, we share a common faith. In fact, the Bible tells us that we are a "body." We are all different parts of the body, but we work together. When we pray together, we can encourage each other. We can follow the example of the very first churches. When the people met together, they prayed with each other (Acts 2:42).

It is important to remember that when you pray with others, it doesn’t make your prayers more powerful. God hears your prayer if you pray individually or with 1000 people.

We pray together because it encourages us in our faith.
