Did God create the universe?

"In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth didn’t have any shape. And it was empty. There was darkness over the surface of the waves. At that time, the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. God said, 'Let there be light.' And there was light" (Genesis 1:1-3).

"So God created human beings in his own likeness. He created them to be like himself. He created them as male and female" (Genesis 1:27).

"God saw everything he had made. And it was very good. There was evening, and there was morning. It was day six" (Genesis 1:31).

Yes, God created the universe.

The Bible tells us in the Book of Genesis that God spoke everything into being (Genesis 1:1-31). God literally created the world out of nothing. The world shows proof for a loving, caring Creator. The universe didn’t happen just by chance. The universe was created by God.

The sky, the stars, the planets—all were created by God because He loves us and desires for all creation to come to know Him. We wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for God. When you step outside today, enjoy God’s beautiful creation.

The universe is beautiful. The rising of the sun to the shimmering stars are all God’s handiwork. The waves of the ocean and the sand on the beach were all created by God. The entire universe and everything in it was created by God for His glory. May we all lift up our voices in praise of our wonderful God.
