Should I wear religious jewelry?

"My dear friends, run away from statues of gods. Don’t worship them" (1 Corinthians 10:14).

"Fancy hairstyles don’t make you beautiful. Wearing gold jewelry or fine clothes doesn’t make you beautiful. Instead, your beauty comes from inside you. It is the beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit. Beauty like this doesn’t fade away. God places great value on it" (1 Peter 3:3–4).

"Let us stop judging one another. Instead, decide not to put anything in the way of a brother or sister. Don’t put anything in their way that would make them trip and fall" (Romans 14:13).

Yes, you can wear religious jewelry if you want to, but you don't have to, and it shouldn't lead to worshiping the wrong things.

Many Christians like to wear crosses as necklaces or other pieces of jewelry. Others like to wear bracelets that have Bible verses written on them. If you want to wear religious jewelry, you can. There is nothing wrong with wearing crosses or jewelry with Bible verses on them.

The only problem that arises with religious jewelry is if we are using them as an idol for worship. Whenever we start worshiping anyone or anything that is not God, we have run into a sinful behavior. If wearing religious jewelry is something that could lead you into worshiping the jewelry instead of God, it would be best to avoid wearing these items. However, if you aren’t worshiping it, then there is nothing wrong with wearing religious jewelry.

It is also important that we don’t wear these pieces of jewelry in order to appear to be Christian. God looks at our hearts, and He knows if we truly love Him (1 Samuel 16:7). If we wear religious jewelry just to appear Christian, we are lying to the world, and this is wrong. If you have not placed faith in Jesus yet, know that you can believe in Him today.
