Is it ok to say shut up to people if they are being jerks?
"...First take the piece of wood out of your own eye. Then you will be able to see clearly to take the bit of sawdust out of your friend’s eye" (Matthew 7:5).
"We will speak the truth in love..." (Ephesians 4:15).
You can tell people they are causing problems, but do it nicely.Sometimes people do wrong things. We can say something, but need to be nice about it. Ephesians 4:15 tells us to "speak the truth in love." This means we tell people the truth, but do it in a loving way.
Jesus also said that we must be careful how we correct others. We are to first make sure we take care of problems in our own life. Then we can help others with their problems (Matthew 7:1-5). We can’t fix every problem, but we can do our best to say what is right and to say it in the right way.
