I worry a lot. Can God help?

"Don’t worry about anything. No matter what happens, tell God about everything. Ask and pray, and give thanks to him" (Philippians 4:6).

"Turn all your worries over to him. He cares about you" (1 Peter 5:7).

"Come to me, all you who are tired and are carrying heavy loads. I will give you rest. Become my servants and learn from me. I am gentle and free of pride. You will find rest for your souls. Serving me is easy, and my load is light" (Matthew 11:28-30).

Yes, God can help you when you are worried.

Worrying can cause many problems in your life. It can lead to unneeded stress, anxiety, and feelings of being overwhelmed. God doesn’t want you to worry. The Bible tells us that we do not need to worry about anything (Philippians 4:6). Instead of worrying, we are encouraged to bring our concerns to God. Whatever is causing you to worry today, pray and tell God about it.

There are two main things you can do to overcome worry. First, go to God in prayer and to give all your worries over to Him (1 Peter 5:7). Second, remember that God is in control and you can trust Him. When you do these two things, you will be able to overcome worry in your life.

When you begin to worry, turn to the Lord. Know that He is always with you and He will never leave your side. Give all of your worries and burdens over to Him. He will help you carry them (Matthew 11:28-30).
