What does it mean to have a personal relationship with Jesus?
"Those who belong to Christ Jesus are no longer under God’s judgement" (Romans 8:1).
"If any of you needs wisdom, you should ask God for it. He will give it to you. God gives freely to everyone and doesn’t find fault" (James 1:5).
"But the fruit the Holy Spirit produces is love, joy and peace. It is being patient, kind and good. It is being faithful and gentle and having control of oneself. There is no law against things of that kind" (Galatians 5:22-23).
Having a personal relationship with Jesus means you are God’s child and have accepted His gift of salvation. You can know Him better by spending time with Him.When you believe Jesus died for your sins and rose again, your relationship with Jesus begins. Only those who believe in Jesus can have a personal relationship with Him.
Just like any friendship, you’ll want to spend time with Jesus, so you can know Him better. A personal relationship with Jesus means talking to Him in prayer and reading the Bible. These actions will help you learn more about Jesus. Also, living in obedience to Jesus is part of having a personal relationship with Him (John 14:15-17). This means it is important to do the right thing—even if nobody is watching.
Those who have a personal relationship with Jesus include Him in every part of their day.
