Jehovah-given. (1.) The son of Obed-edom (1Ch 26:4), one of the Levite porters.
(2.) The son of Shomer, one of the two conspirators who put king Jehoash to death in Millo in Jerusalem (2Ki 12:21).

(1) A servant of King Jehoash of Judah. According to 2Ki 12:21 (22), he was a son of Shomer, but 2Ch 24:26 makes him "son of Shimrith the Moabitess."
(2) A Korahite doorkeeper, son of Obed-edom (1Ch 26:4).
(3) A Benjamite, one of King Jehoshaphat's warriors (2Ch 17:18).

(3.) Son of Shomer or Shimrith, a Moabitish woman, who with another conspired against King Joash and slew him in his bed (2 Kings 2:21; 2 Chronicles 24:26). (B.C. 837)
