Coronation of Messianic King

1Why are the nations in an uproar, and the peoples mutter vanity?

2The kings of earth set themselves up and rulers conspire together against Adonai

and against His Anointed One :

3“Let’s rip their chains apart, and throw their ropes off us!”

4He who sits in heaven laughs! Adonai

mocks them.

5So He will speak to them in His anger, and terrify them in His fury:

6“I have set up My king upon Zion, My holy mountain.”

7I will declare the decree of Adonai

. He said to me: “You are My Son— today I have become Your Father.

8Ask Me, and I will give the nations as Your inheritance, and the far reaches of the earth as Your possession.

9You shall break the nations with an iron scepter. You shall dash them in pieces like a potter’s jar.”

10So now, O kings, be wise, take warning, O judges of the earth!

11Serve Adonai

with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

12Kiss the Son, lest He become angry, and you perish along your way— since His wrath may flare up suddenly. Happy is everyone taking refuge in Him!
