What is the Rapture? Is God really going to take us all to heaven?

"The Lord himself will come down from heaven. We will hear a loud command. We will hear the voice of the leader of the angels. We will hear a blast from God's trumpet. Many who believe in Christ will have died already. They will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them. We will be taken up in the clouds. We will meet the Lord in the air. And we will be with him forever" (1 Thessalonians 4:16–17).

"Listen! I am telling you a mystery. We will not all die. But we will all be changed. That will happen in a flash, as quickly as you can wink an eye. It will happen when the last trumpet sounds. The trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised to live forever. And we will be changed" (1 Corinthians 15:51–52).

Yes, God will save His people from the evil of the end times.

The Bible doesn't use the word "rapture." That's the word we give to the events that the Bible says will happen before the world ends. The Rapture is when God will take all of the people who have trusted in Jesus as their Savior to be with Him in heaven. Most Christians believe God will do this before a big war—bigger than any war that has ever been—begins on the earth. Some Christians think that the Rapture will happen during the war, or at the end of it. After this war, God will judge the earth. Satan's end will come and sin will end too.

When the Rapture happens, God will take the Christians who have died and the Christians who are still alive and bring them up to heaven, where they will get new bodies that will be beautiful and perfect. Then we'll never be sad or sick again. We won't sin ever again. We'll be so happy, and we'll enjoy being with God forever.

If you haven't trusted in Jesus, the only way to heaven, you can read more about that here.
