What keeps us from knowing God?
"Jesus replied, 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Love him with all your mind.' This is the first and most important commandment" (Matthew 22:37-38).
"Turn to the LORD before it’s too late. Call out to him while he’s still ready to help you… Let them turn to our God. He is always ready to forgive" (Isaiah 55:6-7).
Sin keeps us from knowing God.Sin causes us to ignore God and rebel against Him. It is our own disobedience that keeps us from knowing Him and loving Him.
That’s not how God wants it to be though. He wants us to say no to sin and seek Him. We can turn from our sin and ask Him for forgiveness. We can know God personally. In fact, He says that if we seek Him, we will find Him. Deuteronomy 4:29 says, "...You will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul." That’s a great promise!
