Fear of the end of days is natural, but believers can overcome it by relying on God's promises and presence. The Bible assures us that, even amid fears of the unknown and death, those with a saving relationship with Jesus are secure in their eternal destiny (John 3:16; 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18). God's love drives away fear. This love gives us purpose as we live with courage and purpose, looking forward to the fulfillment of God’s promises in the end of days. The only people who should fear the end of days are unbelievers, as they will face eternal consequences (John 3:17–18). However, today is the day of salvation, and everyone is called to respond to Christ’s grace—His death and resurrection—for the forgiveness of sins. There is no time to waste in choosing life in Christ. Eternity is at stake.
Fear is a very common problem, and it is one of Satan's most efficient weapons against the minds of believers. Along with doubt and confusion, Satan uses fear to paralyze us and make us ineffective in the spiritual battle we are all fighting. Fear is an emotion, and its effects are incredibly powerful. Still, a believer can combat fear with truth. If we know the truth about God, about the world, and about ourselves, we can overcome fear.
Believers are called to live with faith, courage, and purpose. Instead of being paralyzed by fear, we are to pursue holiness, share the gospel, and love others as Christ loves us (2 Peter 3:11–12; Matthew 22:37–39). We are to stand firm in God’s truth, trusting His promises and walking in obedience, knowing that our future is secure in Him. As we await Christ’s return, we live each day with hope, using our time to glorify God and make His kingdom known (1 Corinthians 15:58; Matthew 28:19–20).
While believers do not have to fear Judgment Day, those who do not know the Lord do have reason to fear. Nothing is more fearful than to face a perfect God who knows you perfectly and knows you have fallen short of perfection (Romans 3:20, 23). Jesus came to save us. However, those who reject His offer of salvation will face judgment at the end of days without Christ, and that is truly something to fear (John 3:17–18). Today is the day of salvation, and all should respond to the call of Jesus. There is no greater hope than the salvation found in Christ, and there is no time to waste. For those who accept His gift of grace, there is no fear in the coming judgment, only the promise of eternal life with God. But for those who reject Him, the weight of their sin will be revealed, and the consequences are eternal. Today is the day to choose life in Christ and embrace His freedom, for tomorrow is never promised.
