Why are some things in movies funny for adults but not for kids?

"Finally, my brothers and sisters, always think about what is true. Think about what is noble, right and pure. Think about what is lovely and worthy of respect. If anything is excellent or worthy of praise, think about those kinds of things" (Philippians 4:8).

"...In my own home I will lead a life that is without blame. I won’t look at anything that is evil and call it good..." (Psalm 101:2-3).

Our sense of humor changes as we get older.

We can thank God for giving us a sense of humor and the ability to laugh, which can bring joy and delight to us even though sometimes life can be hard. As you grow up and learn more about the world and gain more experience in life, you will find that some things that made you laugh when you were younger won't be so funny to you anymore, but that other things will be. The older you get, the more you will be able to understand the kind of humor that is funny to adults.

But remember that some jokes try to find humor in things that God does not approve of, like sinful behaviors or making fun of others. Be careful of the kinds of humor you enjoy, and ask God to help you only fill your mind with things that are right and pure.
