Why do teachers give so much homework?
"My son, if you stop listening to what I teach you, you will wander away from the words of knowledge" (Proverbs 19:27).
"Do your best to please God. Be a worker who doesn't need to be ashamed...." (2 Timothy 2:15).
Teachers want students to remember what they learn in school.School helps you do well in life, whether you become a parent, doctor, or store owner. Teachers want to help you succeed, so they give you homework. Homework helps you remember the things your teacher said in class. Homework lets you practice on your own. If you do your homework, you can feel more confident and do better in school the next day.
Make a special time and find a specific place to do your homework every day. If you don't have any homework, you might use your "homework time" to review math facts or read for fun.
Some kids need extra practice, and all of us have subjects we find easier and harder. Even if you don't think you need the practice, make a good habit to do your homework. God tells us in the Bible that life isn't always fun or easy. For those who love and trust Jesus, God plans everything that happens to help them become more like Jesus.
