Can I pray if I’ve done something bad?
"Let the one who is evil stop doing evil things. And let him quit thinking evil thoughts. Let him turn to the Lord. The Lord will show him his tender love. Let him turn to our God. He is always ready to forgive" (Isaiah 55:7).
"But God is faithful and fair. If we admit that we have sinned, he will forgive us our sins. He will forgive every wrong thing we have done. He will make us pure" (1 John 1:9).
Yes! You can pray even when you’ve been bad. In fact, God wants you to pray!God is perfect. If we wait until we are perfect before you pray, we will never pray! We don’t have to be perfect. We can pray to God anytime and from anywhere. When we do something bad or sin in some way, God wants to hear from us. In fact, when we sin, God wants to hear from us more than any other time. He wants to talk with us about what happened.
When we sin, we dishonor God. He wants to help us change so we become more like Him and make good choices. When we pray, God is able to help us.
We can admit that we did something wrong and thank Him for His forgiveness.
