Why is it wrong to do drugs?
"Remind God’s people to obey rulers and authorities. Remind them to be ready to do what is good" (Titus 3:1).
"Don't you know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit? The Spirit is in you, and you have received the Spirit from God. You do not belong to yourselves. Christ has paid the price for you. So use your bodies in a way that honors God" (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).
"So be watchful, and control yourselves completely. In this way, put your hope in the grace that lies ahead. This grace will be brought to you when Jesus Christ returns" (1 Peter 1:13).
Doing drugs does not honor God.Drugs are not mentioned in the Bible, but that doesn’t mean it is ok to take drugs. In most countries, it is illegal to do drugs. The Bible specifically tells us to obey man’s law unless it is in contradiction to God’s laws (Romans 13:1-7).
Doing drugs is also bad for our body and can hurt our mental and physical health. God wants us to take care of our bodies. The Bible tells us that our bodies are temples of the Lord (1 Corinthians 6:19). This means we must take care of our bodies and put good things into it—good food, plenty of water, and proper exercise. Since drugs are harmful substances, God doesn’t want us to hurt our bodies with drugs.
Drugs are different from prescription medicine that a medical doctor prescribes. Medicine that your doctor prescribes is safe because it is going to help you feel better. Drugs, on the other hand, are not given to you by a doctor. A person can only obtain drugs by illegal means. Drugs are not good and you should not get involved with them.
