What does the Bible say about horoscopes?
"God said, 'Let there be lights in the huge space of the sky. Let them separate the day from the night. Let the lights set the times for the holy celebrations and the days and the years'" (Genesis 1:14).
"If any of you needs wisdom, you should ask God for it. He will give it to you. God gives freely to everyone and doesn’t find fault" (James 1:5).
"When you look up at the heavens, you will see the sun and moon. And you will see huge numbers of stars. Don’t let anyone tempt you to bow down to the sun, moon or stars. Don’t worship things the Lord your God has provided for all the nations on earth" (Deuteronomy 4:19).
The Bible says that horoscopes are not from God.Horoscopes are directly connected with astrology. Depending on a person’s birthday, you are given a zodiac sign—Aquarius, Pisces, Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, or Capricorn. Horoscopes and astrology teach that a person’s zodiac sign influences the person they are and also their future. This is not true.
Horoscopes are based on the constellations in the sky. Those who invented horoscopes corrupted God’s design of the stars. God gave us the stars as a nightlight and to help direct us. Sailors use the stars to bring them back home. God does not want us to use the stars to tell the future.
Horoscopes and astrology are not biblical. In fact, horoscopes and astrology do more harm than good. They can make you feel bad about yourself and influence you to do bad things. Our wisdom comes from God—not horoscopes or astrology.
