Where do demons come from?
"The great dragon was thrown down to the earth, and his angels with him. The dragon is that old serpent called the devil, or Satan. He leads the whole world astray" (Revelation 12:9).
"Jesus healed many of them. They had all kinds of sicknesses. He also drove out many demons. But he would not let the demons speak, because they knew who he was" (Mark 1:34).
The Bible does not tell us exactly where demons come from, but they are most likely the fallen angels who chose to rebel against God and followed Satan.Demons are also called “angels of Satan,” “evil spirits” or “unclean spirits.” In the Bible, demons could cause people to become sick with illnesses and cause problems. They are powerful supernatural spiritual beings. While the demons are powerful, they are not more powerful than God as He created everything (Colossians 1:16).
They were created to worship, praise, and serve God like the good angels, but when they chose to follow Satan, they lost their place in Heaven (Revelation 12:4-8). The Bible tells us that one third of the angels followed Satan in his rebellion. Since these angels rebelled with Satan against God, they are no longer part of God’s army and they now have the same destiny as Satan and the unbelievers in the Lake of Fire (Matthew 25:41). The Lake of Fire is a place of eternal torture and it is the final destination for Satan, his demons, and unbelievers.
We should not be afraid of demons because Jesus has already defeated the enemy on the cross.
