Vine's Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words
1Strong's Number: g1614Greek: ekteino

Stretch:

"to stretch out or forth," is so rendered in Mat 12:13 (twice), 49; 14:31; 26:51; Mar 3:5 (twice); Luk 6:10; in Mat 8:3; Mar 1:41; Luk 5:13, RV (AV, "put forth"); Luk 22:53; Jhn 21:18; Act 4:30; 26:1. For Act 27:30 see LAY, No. 13.

2Strong's Number: g1901Greek: epekteino

Stretch:

an intensive form of No. 1 (epi, "forth"), is used in Phl 3:13, RV, "stretching forward" (AV, "reaching forth"), a metaphor probably from the foot race (rather than the chariot race), so Lightfoot, who quotes Bengel's paraphrase, "the eye goes before and draws on the hand, the hand goes before and draws on the foot."

3Strong's Number: g5239Greek: huperekteino

Stretch:

"to stretch out beyond" (huper, "over," and No. 1), occurs in 2Cr 10:14, RV, "we stretch (not)... overmuch" (AV, "... beyond our measure").

Note: For ekpetannumi, Rom 10:21, see SPREAD, No. 5. For epiballo, Act 12:1, see PUT, No. 8.
