Meet (Adjective and Verb):

has the meaning of being of "weight, value, worth;" also "befitting, becoming, right on the ground of fitness," e.g., Mat 3:8, AV, "meet" (RV, "worthy"); so Act 26:20; Luk 3:8 ("worthy"); 23:41 ("due reward").

"sufficient, competent, fit," is translated "meet" in 1Cr 15:9.
