in addition to the meaning "stranger," mentioned above under A, denotes one or other of the parties bound by ties of hospitality,

(a) "the guest" (not in the NT),

(b) "the host," Rom 16:23.

Host (Of Guests):

lit., "one who receives all" (pas, "all," dechomai, "to receive"), denotes "an innkeeper, host," Luk 10:35.
