新約聖書にある「週の初めの日」という言葉は日曜日を指しています。
（1）当時は日曜日という言葉はなく、ユダヤ人たちは「週の初めの日」という言葉を使っていました。
（2）ユダヤ人の一日は日没後に始まりますので、土曜日の日没後は暗くても「週の初めの日」になります。
