Slay, Slain, Slew:
the usual word for "to kill," is so translated in the RV wherever possible (e.g., for AV, "to slay," in Luk 11:49; Act 7:52; Rev 2:13; 9:15; 11:13; 19:21); in the following the verb "to kill" would not be appropriate, Rom 7:11, "slew," metaphorically of sin, as using the commandment; Eph 2:16, "having slain," said metaphorically of the enmity between Jew and Gentile.
See KILL, No. 1.
Note: Some mss. have it in Jhn 5:16 (AV, "to slay").
2Strong's Number: g337Greek: anaireoSlay, Slain, Slew:

See KILL, No. 2.

See KILL, No. 7.
