"to go to meet, to meet," (apo, "from," antao, "to meet with, come face to face with"), is used in Mar 14:13; Luk 17:12. Some mss. have this verb for No. 3 in Mat 28:9; Mar 5:2; Luk 14:31; Jhn 4:51; Act 16:16.

"It seems that the special idea of the word was the official welcome of a newly arrived dignitary" (Moulton, Greek Test. Gram. Vol. I, p. 14).
